Monday Made It! (August 5)

Hey all!

I'm linking up with Tara at 4th Grade Frolics for her Monday Made it. Can you believe this is my very first Monday Made It?! I have been seriously slacking on all of the projects I planned on making this summer.

My Monday Made It is this adorable dice holder. Are you tired of your students throwing the dice and then wasting time trying to find it under the bookshelves? (You know those kids!!) Well this is the perfect solution. The dice is all perfectly contained in these little metal container. All your students have to do is shake the container and look through the top to find out what number they rolled.

I started by buying those magnetic spice holders, a pan, ribbon, mod podge, and scrapbook paper.

Then I cut the paper and glued it on the pan.

I waited for it to dry and put the ribbon over the part where to two papers meet.

Easy, right?

I think the hardest part was trying to find all of the magnetic spice holders I needed. I saw a similar idea on Teaching Maddeness blog last year and thought it was adorable. However, I couldn't find the containers. Then I saw another post a couple of weeks ago on Miss Kindergarten's blog about an alternative solution just in case you can't find the spice holders.

Today I spent a couple of hours in my classroom. I am feeling pretty good about it. I still have to organize my filing cabinet. (Which I have been avoiding all summer long.) Most of the boxes are unpacked and put away. I forgot to take before pictures but here are a few of the "work in progress" pictures.

I also put up my Student Improver Wall. I love how it looks.
