13 in '13

Hey all!

I have finally made it to Winter Break! Thank goodness! I know I hear teachers everywhere saying the same thing.

I am linking up with Hadar at Miss Kindergarten, Traci at Dragonflies in First, and Kristin at A Teeny Tiny Teacher to share my 13 favorite things about the year 2013.

13. Favorite article of clothing

I love the infinity scarves. I am actually running out of room in my closet because of all my scarves. I think I'll have to get a bigger closet. (haha)

12. Favorite Movies of 2013

Even before Paul Walker died, I loved these movies. Are they going to get a Grammy, probably not. However, they are always entertaining.

11. Favorite TV series

I love the Big Bang Theory! I can always count on it for a good laugh.

10. Favorite Restaurant

I love this sushi place down the street from me called Trapper's Sushi. My boyfriend and I go there at least once a week. They have some very unique sushi rolls, including some that are deep fried and topped with jalapeƱos. Sounds weird but it is surprisingly delish.

9. Favorite new thing you tried

At the beginning of the year I went to a Zumba class at my gym. I love it. I was surprised at how go of a workout it actually was.

8. Favorit gift you got

A couple of weeks ago I got myself a Macbook Pro for an early Christmas present. I absolutely love it!

7. Favorite thing you pinned

For whatever reason, the widget is not working at the moment. I have a feeling it is operator error but I can't figure it out right at the moment. It is a pin about how to organize your small group materials to make them easily accessible.

6. Favorite blog post
The blog post that is my favorite is the one I did this summer about Whole Brain Teaching. I am still figuring things out but I have enjoyed incorporating the Whole Brain strategies into my lessons.

5. Best accomplishment

This blog! I started blogging in January and I have enjoyed meeting so many people. I have been slacking a bit trying to devote my time to my National Boards. Yikes! I knew that it would be a lot of time, but I was still not prepared for it. When this is all over, I will be writing blog post on a more regular basis. I promise.

4. Favorite picture

My sweetie and I at the Kenny Chesney concert this summer. Good times had by all.

3. Favorite memory

I got to go to Europe this summer. It was a blast. I am already planning on when I can go back.

2. Goal 2014

My goal is finish my National Boards. I am still trying to figure out how to balance life, my students, and devoting enough time to writing my papers.

1. One little word
I think this quote says it perfectly.

Don't forget to head over to Traci, Kristin, or Hadar's blogs to join in the fun.

Five for Friday (June 14)

Hello All!

I know it has been a while. My poor little blog has been so neglected. However I have 3 1/2 more days! Three...more...days!! Boy am I ready. I have been so envious of all of these lovely looking relaxing pool/beach pictures I have been seeing on Instagram.

I am linking up with Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching for her weekly linky, Five for Friday.

One:

My birthday came early for me. My mom got my brother and I tickets to the USA Men's National Team game against Panama in soccer. It was so much fun! Everyone was yelling, cheering, and rooting for USA. Thankfully we won 2-0.

Two:

We went on a fieldtrip on Tuesday. There is a park not too far from our school We walked about a mile there and back. The kids were exhausted by the time we came back but they had a ton of fun.

Three:

My sweetie and I before we dig in!

We went to the Crab Pot in Seattle for my brother's birthday. Delish! They just lay newspaper down and lay the seafood all over the table. There was so much food. We had butter and crab shells all over the place but it was worth it.

Four:

Here are my students during their music assembly. They did such a good job! I was so proud of all of their hard work.

Five:
At my brother's graduation a couple of years ago.

In honor of Father's Day...Happy Father's Day to my Dad, as well as all, the other dads out there.

Enjoy your weekend. I will be knee deep in assessments and report card comments. Three...more...days!!

June Currently

Hell All!

Sorry I have been MIA this last week. I am still in school for another 13 days. We are finally getting down to the single digits. (Boy o' boy am I ready.) My already challenging class has kicked up their behaviors. =( Which makes this teacher, one very tired teacher. Okay on to my currently. I am linking up with Farley at Oh' Boy 4th grade.

These are all pretty self explanatory. I always keep a book with me because you never know when your plane will be delayed.

Here are some pictures from the Kenny Chesney concert.

Eric Church

A little blurry. I was excited!
Sorry for the post that had very little school related content. I hope all of you enjoy your Sunday.

Some Randomness and State Link-Up!

I yelled. I cheered. I lost my voice and got sick! I went to the Seattle Sounders game yesterday. (I talked about it in my last post.) Sadly we lost (booo) but we’ll pull it together. I just took some Nyquil so I’m going to have to keep this quick. Otherwise who knows what I will write.

Have you seen this?

Diane at Fifth inthe Middle has made a place for bloggers to link up by state. I love this idea! I have seen lots of teacher bloggers meeting up and I would love to get that going in Washington too. Plus she has these awesome buttons you can add to your blog for each state.

More randomness.(Theme of the night. Maybe the Nyquil is working faster than I know.)

Have you seen this AT&T commercial? Oh.My.Word! Every time I see it I laugh SO hard. I immediately think of my students. I know that I have had a moment just like that. Have you?

Well, I am going to try to stay up for the end of the Walking Dead and then it’s bedtime for me.

Have a Happy Monday!
